菲律賓今天(14日)敦促中國大陸尊重國際法庭有關南海仲裁的裁決結果，並說菲國會在一場區域高峰會上提出這項議題。中國大陸有關擁有南海大部分主權的主張，已遭國際常設仲裁法院的否定。
菲律賓政府聲明指出，菲國外長雅賽(Perfecto Yasay)將在15日舉行的亞歐峰會(ASEM Summit)上討論「各方需要尊重仲裁法庭最近的判決」。
菲律賓總統杜特蒂(Rodrigo Duterte)先前曾說，只要中國大陸願意替菲國修建鐵路，任內就絕口不提南海爭議。
他在就任總統後也曾表示，將根據國際法院的仲裁結果跟北京展開雙邊對話，並願意共同開發南海資源。
